At Willow Grove Baptist Church, we are committed to growing in faith, strengthening relationships, and serving our community. Over the next three years, we are focusing on nine key areas to deepen our impact and fulfill our mission.

GATHER

Reach Families

  • Hire a children’s director (2025) ✔

  • Develop new plans to specifically minister to men and families

  • Develop a system for existing members to better connect with new and/or visiting families

  • Council to review and implement ideas from the Book Growing Young: Six Essential Strategies to Help Young People Discover and Love Your Church (2025)

GROW

Develop Adult Ministries

  • Expand Adult Bible Studies Options

  • Define small groups and Bible study groups goals & objectives through defined parameters

  • Start two new small groups in the following year (2025)

GO

Support the Food Bank

  • Increased support for the Food Pantry through a Liason position (2025) ✔

  • Additional evangelism opportunities and to better organize and expand the prayer team to build personal contacts with clients

  • Explore partnership opportunities with other local churches for evangelism at the Pantry

Improve Sunday Morning Service

  • Form a team to consider evaulate and offer improvements for Sunday service (2026)

  • Establish a team to re-evaluate the greeting experience

  • Establish theme Sundays: Communion, Nametag Sunday, Invite Sunday, TBD (2025)

Create a Discipleship Pathway

  • Teach on Discipleship/Eldership (40 Days of Eldership) (2026)

  • Create and document the path from visitor through full engagement & leadership

  • Develop and encourage interest in 1 on 1 discipleship

  • Congregational feedback/evaluation of discipleship pathway

Expand Community Outreach

  • Teach on evangelism (Wednesday Night Evangelism Training with Stan Hubbard and Tony Tilford, 40 Days of Pray & Go by Thom Rainer) (2024)

  • Engage with groups who rent space from the church

  • Partner with Community events in the area

Leadership Development

  • Develop a training program for board leadership

  • Establish a workshop/series to Teach on Spiritual Gifts & Elders Roles

  • Council to identify and make available Leadership Opportunities for Young Leaders utilizing Mentorship Relationships

Foster Belonging, Connection, Congregational Care

  • Re-establish/assign deacons responsibilities for caring for the ill and homebound

  • Assign council to individual congregation members and regular attenders to get to know them individually

Modernize Facilities

  • Form a Board of Trustees (2025)

  • Upgrade Handicapped bathrooms (2025)

  • Security enhancements - Cameras, outdoor lighting, secure doors

  • Plan for replacement of aging utilities (Boilers/AC and Windows)
